Engineering Supervisor Opportunity (Electrical Bias) - Join Humdinger in Bromborough!

Humdinger, Bromborough

 

 

We're seeking a new Engineering Supervisor to join our team, based our nut processing site in Bromborough, working a 4 on 4 off shift pattern of 2 days and 2 nights per week (12 hour shifts 7am/7pm start and finish)

 

Salary:  £53,658 per annum

Responsibilities

About the Engineering Supervisor role:

  • Work with the Factory Engineering Manager and individuals in the engineering team to deliver the efficient, safe and cost effective operation of all business units, ensuring that handovers/communication between engineering and operations are an effective 2 way process.
  • Maintain compliance with the Health & Safety at Work Act, factory safety, quality policies, and internal procedures. Proactively collaborate with engineering and safety teams to establish safe work systems, conduct risk assessments, document SOPs, provide training, and ensure compliance.
  • Co-ordinate the shift engineers across both process and packing areas, working with the individuals in those roles to ensure that engineering activities on shift are carried out in a safe and timely manner to good engineering standards.
  • Lead and/or partake in risk assessments and problem solving in conjunction with the engineering team where breakdowns or significant engineering activities take place in their shift period.
  • Use the company CMMS system for tracking of planned reactive and breakdown activities and enforce its use on shift, to ensure that all necessary records are kept and available when required.
  • Where required, assist in the control of contractors, carrying out inductions, issuing permits and providing supervision and control within the workplace to ensure that Company procedures and policies are complied with at all times.
  • Ensure that all process and packing and site utility equipment operates at optimum efficiency by providing the necessary continuous mechanical / electrical engineering support, reacting to differing situations and changes in priorities, carrying out maintenance, repair or modifications / improvements works in priority and timely manner.
  • Carry out site maintenance tasks to maintain the site equipment, building and facilities.
  • Maintenance tasks to include mechanical, electrical breakdowns, planned preventative maintenance and machine setup.
  • Complete relevant paperwork to close out PPM’s and maintenance requests.
  • Complete relevant paper work to close out non-conformances.
  • Carry out engineering stores/stock duties, to include ordering spares, booking in and out of stock, raising Purchase orders.
  • Support Site facilities with specific tasks that require support.
  • Carry out tasks which require the use of a MEWP.
  • Develop key operational staff in the execution of site based autonomous maintenance.
  • Continuous professional and personal development including attending both internal and external training courses as required.

Qualifications

Skills you’ll need to succeed as an Engineering Supervisor at Humdinger:

 

Essential:

  • Experience in a supervisory role or leading/coordinating a team of multi-skilled engineers is preferred.
  • Competency in Electrical / Mechanical skills through a combination of formal qualifications, on and off site training, and experience of similar work carried out.
  • Time Served in an engineering discipline with a formal electrical qualification.
  • Knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) - experience within FMCG environment ideally, with a good understanding of the types of machinery in use within food production/ manufacturing.
  • Experience of dealing with contractors.
  • Basic PC skills.
  • Hold a full valid driving license.
  • Attention to detail and willingness to learn to use specialized tools and equipment. A desire to work/accommodate requests

Desirable:

  • FLT Trained.
  • MEWP Trained.
  • 18th edition regulation.
  • Testing and inspection.
  • Understanding of PLCs, able to fault find to input/output card levels
