Machine Minder (Shifts)

Humdinger, Heckington

 

Position Type: Full time, Permanent 

Hours: 40

Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday, 06:00 - 14:00, 14:00 - 22:00 (Rotating Weekly) 

Pay range: £12.50 /hour (£26,000.00 equivalent) 

Breaks: 2 x 20 minutes PAID

Responsibilities

As a Machine Minder, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence and efficiency. Working with state-of-the-art VFFS (Vertical Form Fill & Seal) bagging machines and multi-head fillers, you’ll ensure smooth, uninterrupted production, while meeting and exceeding key performance targets.

  • Maximise Efficiency: Keep our machines running at their peak capacity, minimising downtime and reducing changeovers to improve overall yield.
  • Quality First: Deliver products that meet the highest quality standards—right the first time, every time.
  • Problem-Solving: Identify and address basic mechanical issues, either by troubleshooting independently or collaborating with the Engineering team for repairs.
  • Continuous Improvement: Always seek opportunities to optimise performance and improve processes through basic Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives.
  • Compliance & Hygiene: Strictly adhere to Good Hygiene Practice (GHP) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient working environment.
  • Record & Report: Accurately document any downtime, losses, and other operational issues to ensure full traceability and transparency.

Qualifications

  • Exceptional People skills
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Reasonable level of Computer Literacy
  • Working experience within an FMCG environment (ideally Food) (Essential)
  • Previous experience with CCPs and quality paperwork in a food environment (Desirable)
  • Completion of Level 2 Food Safety (Training provided by the company if not held before starting)
  • Good knowledge of check weighers & X-Ray machines (Desirable)
  • Machinery experience
