Machine Operatives

Humdinger, Bromborough

 

We are looking for Experienced Machine Operatives to join our team at Humdinger in Bromborough.

 

Position Type: Full-time, Permanent 

Hours: 39

Pay range: £13.38 /hour (£27,134.64 equivalent) 

Breaks: 2 x 30 minutes

Shift Pattern:  Rotating Weekly, Monday - Friday.

 

Monday - Thursday:

 

Week 1: 06:00 - 14:00

Week 2: 14:00 - 22:00

Week 3: 22:00 - 06:00

 

Friday:

 

Week 1: 06:00 - 13:00

Week 2: 13:00 - 20:00

Week 3: 20:00 - 03:00

Responsibilities

The successful candidates will be responsible for the optimised running of machinery and production equipment such as Vertical Form Fill & Seal bagging machine, multi-head fillers, vacuum machines, depositors, paste mills and more!

 

You will also be responsible for the delivery of the Production plan, improving efficiencies and meeting all operational targets, accurate completion of paperwork, quality, critical control checks and learning all aspects of the processing equipment to enable full flexibility within the area. 

  • Reset machines in cases of malfunctions and clear jams 

  • Manipulate machine controls as and when required  to ensure minimising  of packing material waste. 

  • Inspect and remove defective items or those that do not meet packaging standards. 

  • Clean packaging machinery parts and perform both preventative and general maintenance activities in accordance with the companies CIC cards.   

  • Attach identification labels to finished items and count them to ensure that they conform to initial order and customer specifications.  

  • Document all  packing activities on a daily / shift  basis and report machinery faults and supply issues immediately.  

  • Provide training and support to all grade 1 and 2 staff working or supporting the line they are Operating.  

  • Ensure the line they are operating is ran to it’s optimal capacity, trying to hit or beat material variance and changeover standards.  

  • Ensure that all aspects of quality is adhered and meets customer specification and expectations.  

  • Work as part of the team fulfilling duties such as packing, stacking and labelling.  

  • To be the Operational Quality Line lead on Customer visits/audits. 

  • To carry out any reasonable duties requested by the Area Supervisor or Shift Manager 

.

Qualifications

  • Strong People skills 
  • Previous experience with food manufacturing 
  • Previous Machinery experience is essential
  • High level of Computer Literacy 
  • High level of numeracy 
  • Good communication skills 
  • Previous experience of CCP’s & Quality paperwork in a food environment
