Facilities Maintenance Technician

Humdinger, Sherburn LS25 6PJ

 

This role ensures the facility runs smoothly by performing inspections, basic repairs, and maintenance to keep the environment safe and efficient. You’ll handle preventative maintenance, address requests from compliance audits, and track tasks using the site CMMS. If you’re ready to keep things running seamlessly, this is the role for you!

 

Position type: Full-time, Permanent 

Hours: 37.5

Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday, 08:30 - 16:30

Pay range: £28,000 - £32,000 per annum

Breaks: 30 minutes

Responsibilities

  • Routine site inspections and preventative Maintenance.
  • Reactive Maintenance and repairs, including plumbing joinery and metal fabrication.
  • Facilities upkeep including outside and none production areas/ roof voids.
  • CMMS usage and sound understanding.
  • Energy and environment monitoring, Escalation of issues.
  • Statutory corrective actions.
  • Cross departmental communication.
  • Weekly fire alarm tests.
  • Driving duties when required.
  • General house keeping.
  • MEWP usage for certain tasks.
  • Upkeep of secondary assets, Boilers, HVAC, Chillers canteen equipment.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Proven experience in a facilities maintenance role
  • Possession of a valid driving license.
  • Demonstrated experience in contractor control with a strong understanding of compliance and safety protocols.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • A strong commitment to excellence with a proactive and results-driven approach.
  • Practical experience in basic electrical work, plumbing, carpentry, and sheet fabrication.

Desirable

  • Experience operating a Forklift Truck (FLT) is desirable; training will be provided if required.
  • Experience with Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (MEWP) is desirable; training will be provided if needed.
  • An NVQ Level 3 qualification in a relevant maintenance discipline is desirable.
