Operations Supervisor

Humdinger, Bromborough CH62 3RD

 

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Operations Supervisor to join our team at Humdinger. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth, safe and efficient running of our production operations, maintaining high standards of quality, safety and team performance.

 

Position Type: Full-time, Permanent 

Hours: 39

Pay: £15.92/hour (salary equivalent £32,285.76) (Opportunity to increase to £17.96 after successful completion of 6 months training)

Paid Breaks: 2 x 20 minutes

Shift Pattern: Rotating weekly.

 

Monday - Thursday:

 

Week 1: 06:00 - 14:00

Week 2: 14:00 - 22:00

Week 3: 22:00 - 06:00

 

Friday:

 

Week 1: 06:00 - 13:00

Week 2: 13:00 - 20:00

Week 3: 20:00 - 03:00

 

Closing date: Friday 2nd January 2026

Interviews: Week Commencing Monday 19th January 2026

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support production teams, stepping in for shift managers and ensuring smooth shift handovers.
  • Supervise operations end-to-end: schedules, resources, training, HR matters (attendance, timekeeping, disciplinary) and stock control.
  • Drive efficiency and improvement, reducing waste, optimising machine utilisation, and ensuring timely material delivery.
  • Ensure compliance and safety, managing non-conformances, enforcing SOPs, and promoting HACCP, BRC and customer standards.
  • Collaborate across functions, ensure timely material delivery to production lines, solving breakdowns or quality issues, reporting engineering problems promptly, and supporting major maintenance work.
  • Act as Site Controller during incidents, oversee weekend callouts, and maintain a safe, secure working environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience in leading or supervising in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication skills to engage and lead a team effectively.
  • Hold a Level 3 food safety certificate.
  • Hold a Level 3 HACCP certificate.
  • Experience in coaching or training others to support development.
  • Solid literacy and numeracy skills for accurate documentation and reporting.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and keep production on track to meet deadlines.
  • Confidence in motivating and managing a team to drive performance.
