Hygiene Operative

Join our team as a Hygiene Operative! We have two full-time positions available:

  • Permanent Role
  • 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract

You’ll play a key part in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across our site. If you're reliable, detail-oriented and ready to make a difference, we’d love to hear from you!

 

Hours: 40

Shift Pattern: 06:00 - 14:00, 14:00 - 22:00 Rotating weekly

Pay range: £12.23/hour (£25,438.40 salary equivalent)  

Breaks: 2 x 30 minutes paid

Responsibilities

  • Maintain hygiene in staff areas (desk cleaning, hoovering, reception, glass door/window cleaning, toilets, canteen, lockers)
  • Perform environmental cleaning including equipment and surfaces (floor cleaning, doors, high level and low level walls, food contact and nonfood contact equipment, sink washing, emptying bins, replenishment of paper towels / soap)
  • Maintain accurate cleaning records.
  • Safely handle and use cleaning chemicals and conduct chemical checks.
  • Follow all Health & Safety and hygiene procedures.
  • Report incidents or concerns to your line manager.
  • Use safety signage appropriately and prevent cross-contamination.
  • Support stock checks and report low supplies.

Qualifications

Experience:

  • Previous experience within a hygiene role.
  • Working at height (Scissor Lift/cherry picker)
  • A passion for hygiene and working to the correct procedures and processes.
  • Working in a food manufacturing environment.

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) compliance
  • Good understand of hygiene chemicals.

Skills:

  • Keen eye for detail.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Good team player but ability to also work on your own.
  • Ability to priorities tasks, effective planning, attention to detail and working to deadlines.
