Hygiene Supervisor

Humdinger, Bromborough CH62 3RD

 

We’re seeking a proactive Hygiene Supervisor to support the Technical Manager in maintaining BRC standards, food safety, hygiene, and compliance across the Sherburn site, while leading the hygiene team and managing cleaning operations, pest control, and consumables to the highest standards.

 

Position type: Permanent Full-Time 

Hours: 37.5

Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday, 08:00 - 16:00

Pay range: £15.80 /ph (£30,810 salary equivalent)

Breaks: 30 minutes

Responsibilities

  • Management of the site Hygiene Operatives.
  • Lead and maintain a compliant internal auditing program aligned with legal and retailer standards.
  • Track and report Quality & Food Safety metrics to support continuous site improvement.
  • Drive the QFSI agenda and uphold hygiene systems to Gold Standard levels.
  • Ensure BRC Grade A certification and customer technical compliance are consistently achieved.
  • Oversee hygiene operations, including planning and execution of cleaning schedules (daily, weekly, monthly, deep cleans, allergen, interim, and tank cleaning).
  • Collaborate with Production, Technical, and Training teams to implement best practices and hygiene improvements.
  • Attend stakeholder meetings and communicate actions effectively.
  • Maintain COSHH compliance through regular CIC card reviews.
  • Manage hygiene consumables within budget, ensuring stock availability and cost efficiency.
  • Identify and escalate issues related to pest control, laundry, and consumables.
  • Achieve full audit compliance and maintain a clean pest control record.
  • Actively contribute to the site’s internal audit team.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Strong knowledge of GMP, HACCP (Level 3), and Food Hygiene (Level 3).
  • Proven experience in supervisory or management roles within food manufacturing.
  • Skilled in hygiene best practices, pest control, and customer compliance standards.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent time management, prioritisation, and organisational skills.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence, present ideas, and build strong team relationships.
  • Experienced in training, coaching, and assessing staff understanding.
  • Competent in writing and interpreting risk assessments.
  • Knowledge of COSHH and Health & Safety regulations.
  • Calm under pressure and able to meet tight deadlines.

Desirable:

  • Level 4 or above Food Hygiene
  • Level 4 HACCP
