Site Facilities Operative/Technician

Humdinger, Heckington NG34 9JH

 

Position type: Permanent Full-Time 

Hours: 40

Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday, 08:30 -17:00

Pay range: £13.38 per hour (Salary equivalent £27,830.40)

Provide essential facilities support by carrying out a diverse mix of maintenance tasks from plumbing and carpentry to routine compliance checks, ensuring our site operates safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver a broad range of building and facilities maintenance tasks, including plumbing, basic building work, carpentry, fabrication, and painting/decorating.
  • Complete routine compliance checks such as L8 water hygiene checks, vehicle inspections, weekly fire alarm tests and monthly fire extinguisher checks.
  • Maintain accurate records and complete all required paperwork to close out non‑conformances and support site compliance.
  • Support engineers and other site teams with maintenance tasks.
  • Assist with yard operations, including providing holiday cover, performing FLT duties, and completing tasks requiring MEWP operation.
  • Manage on-site contractors, including permit control.
  • Carry out driving duties as required and demonstrate flexibility to work occasional weekends.
  • Communicate effectively with management and work collaboratively across departments to maintain a safe, well‑run site.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Basic maintenance skills (plumbing, building work, fabrication, carpentry).
  • Valid driving licence and ability to work outdoors in all weather.
  • Experience supporting general site maintenance and working with contractors.
  • Basic PC skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn and flexibility to work out of hours when required.

Desirable

  • FLT Counterbalance licence (or willingness to train).
  • MEWP/IPAF (Genie Lift) certification (or willingness to train).
  • Understanding of GMP standards.
  • Basic electrical or mechanical fitting skills.
  • Awareness of L8 water hygiene practices.
